A good resume should summarize your goals, skills, education, and your work experience.
An objective states what type of position you are seeking while showcasing what you can offer to the employer. An objective should be brief and specific. Alternatively, you can state the title of the position you are applying for in your objective.
Include the title of each position you held, your duties and the dates of your employment. If you do not have a great deal of work experience, emphasize your education, school activities, participation in social organizations, and volunteer work.
State the highest level of education you have achieved. Include vocational skills and certifications. If you are a recent graduate with limited work experience, you may want to emphasize subjects studied that are relevant to the position you are applying for.
List skills that are relevant for the position you are applying for.
- If you are applying for an office job, list the office equipment that you can use, such as copier, fax machine, telephone, and computer. Also include your typing speed and the computer programs that you are comfortable using.
- If you are applying for a job in the health sector, include the medical equipment that you can use and your certified skills, such as CPR, performing phlebotomy, and taking vital signs.
